What this does

Player Center is the customer inventory for searching, filtering, inspecting, assigning, labeling, replacing, and troubleshooting Players.

Steps

  1. Open Players and confirm scope.
  2. Search or filter by location, status, type, or label.
  3. Open a Player for identity, assignment, configuration, and last-seen detail.
  4. Use the supported action: add, move, label, unpair, replace, refresh, or Get Help.
  5. Verify the resulting status and assigned content.

Status meanings

Online has a recent heartbeat. Needs Attention has an actionable health condition. Offline has exceeded the heartbeat window. Unknown lacks enough current telemetry. Provisioning is not yet fully registered.

Player settings

Name identifies the Player; location controls operational scope; type controls compatible setup; assignments determine content; labels organize without changing location.

Actions and consequences

Move changes location scope. Unpair removes registration. Replace transfers supported identity/assignment to replacement hardware. Refresh requests current status. Get Help attaches safe context.

  • No Access hides or blocks the module. Read Only permits viewing but disables changes. Editor permits the documented create, edit, publish, or administrative actions within the user's assigned scope.

Mobile

  • On narrow screens, open the sidebar or overflow menu to reach the same actions; labels and save behavior are unchanged unless this article says otherwise.

Warnings

  • Unpairing or replacing a Player interrupts its current registration and can affect playback.

Troubleshooting

  • Offline means no recent heartbeat; check power, network, clock, and app state.
  • Unknown usually means insufficient recent telemetry or incomplete provisioning.
  • Use the narrowest Player and time range for logs and never paste secrets into a case.
  • For online, needs-attention, unknown, and last-seen states, verify the selected scope, access level, required connection, and displayed validation or freshness status; retry once after correcting the cause, then create a context-rich Support case if it continues.
  • For empty and unavailable logs, verify the selected scope, access level, required connection, and displayed validation or freshness status; retry once after correcting the cause, then create a context-rich Support case if it continues.
